Society for Information Services
Established on June 27, 2003, is a completely
new Non-Profit Society (Ideell Förening) founded in Stockholm by a group of professional journalists that decided to build
up an association with members being amongst the most professional and respected ones within the foreign correspondents working
in Sweden.
PROFOCAs executive organ is a Board of Directors
consisting until May 2010, of five members:

The Professional Foreign Correspondents Association
(PROFOCA) and its Statutes (Stadgar), are registered with the Tax Authority (Skattemyndigheten) on June 30, 2003, with the
Organisation Number 802413 – 7336, and at the Companies Authority (Bolagsverket) with the same number 802413-7336 and
are considered as one of the best ever authorized by both authorities. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has recognized PROFOCA,
as a legitimate and well-founded organization of professional journalists representing important foreign media.
OBJECTIVES
ˇ To safeguard the general and common interests
of the members in their professional work and in their condition as correspondents working in Sweden only for foreign media.
ˇ To arrange press conferences with politicians,
businesspersons, scientists and researchers, etc, including study visits related to journalism and culture.
ˇ To arrange sport, social and cultural activities
for its members and visits to places of interest to them.
P O L I C Y
ˇ A purely ideal association, apolitical,
without any economic profit goals, independent, and non-religious association, aiming to protect the rights of its members,
facilitate their professional work, and arrange activities aimed to their interests, education and social areas.
ˇ To provide both men and women with the same
rights in everything related to PROFOCA.
ˇ To use English or Swedish only, or both, to
communicate with its members.
ˇ No entry or yearly fees.
