As is now customary, members of our organization
were guests of honour at the Gala Reception given by the Mexican Armada and the Mexican Diplomatic Mission in Sweden, on Sunday,
July 29, 2007 on board of the Mexican School Ship Cuauhtemoc, which is participating in the Tall Ships Regatta that started
from Århus, Denmark till Finland, Stockholm and finalizing in Szczecin, Poland.
Hosts for the group of professional journalists were Navy Captain Mario Carbajal Ramirez and H. E. Norma Pensado Moreno,
ambassador of Mexico in Sweden, together with consul Pilar Escobar.
Our members, together with their families and friends, were taken care of by two high-ranked officials of the Mexican
Armada, who took them to the different areas of one of the most beautiful ships competing in the Regatta.
The group were formed by those colleagues who attended the cultural event offered by the Mexican Embassy on June 28,
which included a presentation of the Cuauhtémoc, well named as the Ambassador of the Seas.
After enjoying the cordiality of the Mexican sailors and the cadets under training, our friends and colleagues were
pampered with real typical Mexican dishes, drinks, and desserts and with a huge piece of a big cake shaped to resemble the
Cuauhtémoc celebrating its 25th Anniversary of sailing throughout the Seven Seas thus bearing the name of Mexico
way on top of it mast, as clearly stated by Commandant Carbajal Ramirez.
The famous Mexican fireworks delighted the attendants as
well as hundreds of spectators who gathered at the port of Stockholm.
