Mrs. Eva Hamilton
President
SVT
Dear Mrs. Hamilton:
In the name of PROFOCA (Professional Foreign Correspondents Association), we protest against the distasteful action
committed against Sweden’s Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, by a so called TV
“reporter” Hanna Wilenius, as identified by the Swedish media.
Her action has no name and it appears that this country has forgotten the assassination of Olof Palme back in 1986
and of Anna Lindh in 2003.
What “reporter” Wilenius committed was not only shameless but also abject and it certainly puts a question
mark on all of the Swedish journalists who seriously perform their duties in Sweden.
Hanna Wilenius should be dismissed without delay from her “journalistic” duties and serious
journalists should stop addressing her as “colleague”.
Why does SVT support a project that in the future will make it difficult for serious and professional reporters
to approach politicians in Sweden?
Furthermore, SVT should reconsider its lack of common sense when buying or accepting programs. By having bought
or approved the production of the shameful program in which “reporter” Wilenius collaborates, shows nothing else
but lack of guidance in the top level.
Professionally yours
Francesco Saverio Alonzo
President
